Amirah

Amirah is a 19-year-old singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Virginia Beach, VA — the same creative hub that gave rise to icons like Missy Elliott, Pharrell, and Timbaland. A self-described “weird, alt kid,” she grew up playing piano and percussion, inspired by her poet mother to turn her thoughts into songs.

When the world shut down during her eighth-grade year, Amirah began sharing covers and originals on TikTok. In 2021, her soulful rendition of Billie Eilish’s “Happier Than Ever” went viral with over 11 million views, catching the attention of Grammy-winning producer Mustard, who signed her to his 10 Summers/Interscope Records just six months later.

Her debut EP, Wish It Wasn’t You (2024), introduced her playful yet introspective style with songs like “Tokio,” “Beautiful,” and the powerhouse title track — a snapshot of teenage crushes, first heartbreaks, and self-discovery. Now entering her Sophomore year at NYU, Amirah is stepping into an era that blends her quirky charm with the raw honesty of a young woman navigating love, friendship, and independence.
